I was born and raised on a farm in Arlington/Lakeland Tennessee, located near Memphis, where I started singing in church as a teenager. At my class reunions I sang gospel music until 2000, when I started singing the blues. I was inspired by my idol KoKo Taylor following her around and having fun as she sang. She always told me to look good and sing good. Other idols of mine are Etta James, Tina Turner and Betty Wright. Retired from my job my debut was in 2005. “BEDROOM OFFER”, and the CD followed in 2006. Bertha is the Executive Producer of her new CD released with her own record label, Bertland Records.
So in 2009 she is back now, let's all sit back and enjoy her latest CD "Let The Party Get Started". [ More]
