Only God knows how and why Little Junior Crudup is now the sole torchbearer of the famed Crudup Blues Legacy. He certainly didn’t covet or lobby for the responsibility. Little Junior’s uncle, Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup, started the legacy back in the 40s. Big Boy’s three sons, The Crudup Brothers, formerly known as the Malibus, picked up the torch after his passing in 1974.

The leader of The Crudup Brothers’ blues band, Jonas Crudup, passed the torch to Little Junior from his deathbed in 2003.

Little Junior is still trying to grasp the enormous responsibility and divine privilege of being entrusted with such a sacred honor.
His background surely suggests he is worthy of being the “chosen one.”

He is a consummate stage actor and has starred in four independent feature films. He’s a seasoned blues singer from slugging it out in the trenches of the Bay Area blues scene for 20 years. He’s lived the blues for some forty plus years.

The weight of the torch in Little Junior’s hand is starting to feel lighter with each passing day. God doesn’t make mistakes!!
