Singer, Songwriter, Actress, and Novelist are just a few words that generally describe the public life of Ms. Lois Hicks, a multi-talented Southern Soul Performer. Born in Deatsville, Alabama on June 11, Lois became well known to the stage at a very early age. Her earliest experiences were in the form of School Plays, Church programs, and (at the tender age of eight), Live Radio Performances each week.
As Lois matured in the singing arena, she became interested in a wide spectrum of music types that have influenced her to this day. Her most preferred influences have been in the categories R & B, Jazz, and Blues. Combined with a prominent Southern Gospel background, those influences have laid the foundation for the Southern Soul Singer Lois is today.
Lois’ previous recording projects include “ Together At Last “ and “Intimate Nights “ which she recorded with Terry Dews, a long time member of “ The Master Movements.” Her solo album entitled “ Cornbread Hips “ earned her the colorful nickname “ Cornbread Hips. “
Lois’ current project is a CD Album entitled “ I Want To Love You Tonight.“ It is structured on a Southern Soul foundation that Lois has been seeking for a long time. This project was written, composed, and produced by Douglas Dumas (former guitarist for Superstar Artist Marvin Sease, and bassist for Legendary Blues Artist, Ronnie Lovejoy). After being an opening act for such musical Legends as Little Milton, J. Blackfoot, Latimore, and musical superstar T. K. Soul, Lois is ready to Headline her own shows and bring absolute “Sconion” to the stage.
Lois’ books “Soul Mates” and “Forbidden Lust can be obtained through www.amazon.com . Lois was on cast in the movie, “Envy” along with Ray T, Lisa Rae, and Mia Campbell. Filming for the movie is complete; However, the release date has not been announced.
