Hog Pin is having a hard time breaking through to some stations in Alabama, which is our home state. Sometimes, it can be hard to break a song in Alabama. One of the main stations is 105.3FM in Selma, AL. The request line is (334)872-7004. They play Southern Soul and Blues on M-F 2-5pm & Sat. all day.

We need your help. Please, whenever it crosses your mind, request Hog Pin: Can You Drop It. We have to and need to support each other. If you need us to do the same, we are happy to do it for you. God bless!

BUTTERFLY & PEACOCK

Indigo-Tourmaline sprawling eyes
on a bed of cilantro, olive, sage
and hunter-green iridescent wisps.

A lovely spot for a pumpkin-rust,
black & white, spotted & bordered,
bewitchingly beautiful butterfly.

My senses have been quickened.
My eye-gait is satiated from this;
the mother-lode feast of palettes.

My eyes have been soul satisfied.
My soul is a well-whetted whelp.

Although, we see darkness at every
turn in the world, purity pillars upon
the earth. The earth shall long remain

past the passing of our remains.

DANCING HEARTS ARE STILL REMEMBERED

Lavender-turquoise-salmon sea shells
jangling from cherry-red hip scarves.
Yellow, red, orange & brown crisp leaves

blowing on a near-frost morn, circling
around sensible shoes for painful arches.

Dancing feet are still remembered.

Gone are the tinkling sound of anklets
above Aboriginal feet. Pages slowly yellow.
Turkey oven mitts replace youthful hands.

Hippie graveyards are filling quickly this season.
Blood medicated to move through more efficiently,
even though aging bodies move like a sea of slugs.

Mescaline revelations are a vague notion, now.
Desert moons whispered their neon-wisdoms.
Now, the rumble announces a newly deafening ear.

Dancing minds are still remembered.

Love for humanity was poured out like LSD
upon this generation of seekers. Quietly, they
have been taken away; one by one. The world
is the poorer for it; with its fierce anal pincers.

Dancing hearts are still remembered.

My Challenge
Posted September 26, 2010 by sjfstudios

Sometime, we all can use a wake up call. Consider yourself Blessed when you receive it.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Not too long after I completed my last CD,”It’s Just Me”, I received a phone call from a very close and dear friend. This person is probably more than a friend. They are more like a creative soul mate. We are both into creativity and even though or chosen media is different, we have traveled down a parallel path. This person has followed my music almost from day one and has witnessed its progression over time. They have provided me with an outside view of my music that has been sometimes hard for me to digest at times.

This phone call was my challenge. My friend explained to me just what they heard in my music and told me just what I needed to hear. They challenged me, dared me to just let myself go and stop holding back so much. That statement was more truthful than you could ever know. It’s a scary thing to bare your soul to the public. To just lay it all out there for everyone to see. I was tired of holding it in and accepted that challenge.

My acceptance took the form of my new album, “Afterglow”. I’m not going to say that I hope you like it. I’m just going to ask that you accept it for just what it is. A musical representation of who I am.
